Left 4 Dead 2 Preorder £26.99 @ Amazon [PC Game]

(Bumping post as Roland has spotted an excellent deal on the pre-order game)

It's not too long now till Left 4 Dead 2 is released and so those of you who have decided not to boycott the title, and instead are harbouring  a hankering to get your hands on it the very day it comes out could do a lot worse than to pre-order your copy from Amazon.co.uk who are currently leading the scramble to offer the cheapest pre-release price.

The first title received very good, if not excellent, reviews and the sequel looks set to be of the same high standard, building upon the cooperative fps gameplay with new campaigns in a new setting and new weapons. Everyone who is anyone knows that there is no greater pleasure than smacking zombies with a guitar. Or a ninja sword. Or a baseball bat.

L4D2 is set in Southern America with the familiar premise of small, isolated groups of human survivors being forced to fight their way through zombie hordes to extraction points, taking refuge in sparse, scattered safehouses along the way. You will be dealing with four new survivors, each with their own unique story that you will learn along the course of the game. There are to be five campaigns, including: “Swamp Fever” in which you must cross a lush bayou, “The Parish” in which action will revolve around a church and “Dark Carnival” which sees you passing through that old horror staple; a zombie infested funfair in the dead of night.

While I can't image it will give me a case of the glee anywhere near to the way that Silent Hill 3's foray into a carnival of horror's did, anything remotely fairground related gets me all itchy with excitement so it's fair to say, as a L4D philistine who has not been caught up in all the recent furore and controversy, I am looking forward to trying Left 4 Dead 2 myself.

Thanks to wiimii at Hotukdeals!

For a sequel surrounded in so much controversy a £37 price tag is not going to win over many fans!
I'd be very surprised if this price sticks.

Yeah, hopefully this will be one that drops down in price pronto.

Greed Greed Greed as usual , as has already been slammed around the net this should have been an add on not a completely seperate game , i doubt this will do very well considering the "tough shit" attitude that comes with the first.

I don't understand why everyone is getting their knickers in a twist about this sequel. It looks like a complete sequel and from what I have read at a number of games websites as well as magazines, the people who have played it say it is going to be well worth it.
Do you also complain about the Fifa or Call of Duty sequels? It seems that it's only because Valve are releasing this game that people are getting all loony about it. I think they all expect free updates and DLC for each game for years to come or something.

Anyway, day one purchase for me.

Trading is all about fairness. In terms of the developer's effort and financial investment, this is over-priced. Unlike console games, which has licensing fees, PC games hardly debut at over £30, except AAA titles. But those are titles that are years into development. You can argue this is a good quality game, but to me they are merely using old assets, engine, and add some new features to it. The development took less than a year. This to me is a rip off.

Amazon has this on pre-order at £26.99
Now suddenly this feels better of a deal.

LOL ok by any chance you guys mean the Xbox version?
Didn't know L4D2 will have a Xbox port.

Was there not the same speculation about Halo ODST being more an extension than a full game, is this the future????

ZedEx  Sep. 22, 2009 at 13:55

To be honest there wasnt a hugh life span on the old left 4 dead and i think thats why people are moaning about l4d2 coming out so soon, the fact that the first one felt a bit half finished when it was released.
