Left 4 Dead Game of the Year Edition £17.95 @ Zavvi [XBox 360 Games]

I recently wrote a post advising that Steam were offering Left 4 Dead at half price; this was part of their weekend deal for that week and so the price has now returned to £24.99. However if you missed out, do not despair – Zavvi are currently offering Left 4 Dead for £17.95 (nearly two pounds less than the next best price) which is considerably more expensive than the Steam deal was but there is consolation in the fact that this is the Game of the Year edition for the Xbox 360 which always tends to command a greater price. (The extra content is actually available for free as dlc but I have been unable to find a regular copy of the game for a lower price, so this remains the best deal).

The main game sees you take on the role of one of four “Survivors”, struggling to find a safe haven in a post apocalyptic world of zombie mayhem. You must fight your way through 4 campaigns of 5 levels with the brief solace of a pit stop at a safe house between each.

The Game of the Year edition includes the game itself and the “Survival Pack”; a collection of content not included in the original. The main addition is Survival, the 1 to 4 player gameplay mode that pits you against constant, unrelenting hordes of zombies on more than ten different environments. Your performance is rated by how long you survive, with the times uploaded onto leader boards. You also get two new Versus campaigns, each featuring five maps and allow you to play 4 on 4 multiplayer action, competing as zombie Bosses against the Survivors.Left 4 Dead Game of the Year Edition £17.95 @ Zavvi [XBox 360 Games]

Though it is a tad on the short side, overall Left 4 Dead is a great shooter, particularly for zombie fans (and who isn't one these days?!) and well worth adding to your collection, particularly with the extra content included.

the game of the year doesn't include any other content the dlc is free already on live for all, your better of buying the pre owned from blockbuster for £14.99.

Hey Luke. Thanks for reminding me that the dlc is free; i had forgotten that - i will add something in the post about it. It's still the cheapest 360 price i can find online.

We only tend to deal with new games on here (and usually online); counting on pre-owned items being in stock in local stores is a bit too unreliable & i, for one, don't have a Blockbuster anywhere near me.

Not all the DLC is free. Crash Course costs 560MS points but does not come with the game of the year edition.

It's only £17.95 on Zavvi.

Doh! Zavvi must have changed their price this morning. I've updated the post - thanks!
