Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes Officially Announced

Warner Bros Interactive has officially announced Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes after several weeks of accurate rumours. The new title will indeed feature an all-star DC cast including Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern - as well as an original story set in the DC universe. Naturally recurring villain Lex Luthor will be up to his old tricks, and it's up to us to collect lots of studs and enjoy some (probably excellent, let's face it) co-op shenanigans in the process.

The Batmobile and Batwing will allow us to explore the city at speed, while new gadgets such as the Hazard Cannon and Power Suit will beef up the Dynamic Duo's arsenal. The other DC heroes will also boast unique powers such as heat vision and flight.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes has been dated for summer 2012 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PC, DS, 3DS and PlayStation Vita.

My all time Fav lego game was probably the 1st Harry Potter... The 2nd harry potter just wasn't as good. I really liked the first Batman so I hope this one can live up to it!

Exciting times!

I'm a big fan of the lego games and my favourite was definitely Batman, so I'm looking forward to this - though I doubt it'll be as good as the original.
I preferred the version of the engine they used in the first batch of games (Batman, Star Wars, Indy) and wasn't as keen on the engine in Potter 1-4 and Pirates. Haven't tried Clone Wars or Potter 5-7 yet, but I'll almost certainly get both this year. I'm in no rush though - got a stack of games I've not started yet (due to Skyrim taking all my time) and prices are falling nicely ;)

p.s. Hope Catwoman's in this one. She was sexy in the first.
Yeah, I know - I have problems.
Meeee-ooooowwwwwwww. Purrrrrr, purrrrrrrrr.....

I like the new engine myself for the split screen. That had real issues in HP5-7 though, kept going wrong.

The new Star Wars one is probably my 3rd fav actually. I found it more aimed at grownups. You had to work more stuff out on your own, which was great and actually pretty tough at times.

I, like most people, like to 100% the Lego games... but isn't it such a letdown when you do and you get next to nothing for it.

Gave up on 100%ing them when they started insisting you do the "build your own level" stuff - with a load of annoying training levels.
Speaks volumes of my maturity, though, that 3 of the 4 games I've got to 100% are lego. (The other was a Tomb Raider game.)

I know what you mean. Though I don't find the lego games that childish. They are a good family game where litterally all ages and skill level players could have fun.
