TT Games have revealed this year's slate of LEGO games, including one massive surprise that could prove to be one of the most hilarious tie-ins yet.
Releasing in June, Jurassic World will cover all four Jurassic Park films and recreate the most memorable moments from the lot. We reckon that this could actually be one of the best collaborations yet, seeing as it's both a massively nostalgic property that will bring back plenty of memories, but also because its more horrific moments will seem absolutely hilarious when being acted out by LEGO figures!
Mind you, we dragged TT Games over the coals for rushing out their LEGO games in a recent article and LEGO Batman 3 review. Here's hoping that they've been able to take the time to do Jurassic Park justice and to add some fresh unique gameplay elements.
That's summer sorted -- hopefully -- but LEGO Marvel's Avengers will arrive in time for Christmas. Naturally tying into the Avengers films, we can expect a comedic runthrough of The Avengers and The Avengers 2: Age Of Ultron, alongside mountains of studs and hours spent pressing B while standing on a white spinning circle. This being a LEGO game, it's coming out on pretty much everything, from current-gen and last-gen consoles to PC and handhelds.
“The LEGO videogame franchise remains a cornerstone of our business, consistently delivering fun, engaging gameplay and remarkable humour both kids and adults love,” burbled some bloke in a press release, using a lot of words to say pretty much bugger all. “We look forward to expanding the successful series with this very exciting line-up of new LEGO experiences for players of all ages to enjoy on console, handheld and mobile gaming devices.”
“This year will be the biggest yet for LEGO videogames with these incredible titles and several firsts for the series,” waffled Tom Stone or more likely his PR manager, because seriously who talks like this. “TT Games are crafting humorous LEGO adventures, based on new stories and characters across some of the most well-known and iconic worlds.”
We'll have more details for you very soon. Until then, what do you want from LEGO Jurassic World and Marvel's Avengers -- and what classic scenes would you like to see re-enacted in hilarious LEGO style? We're hoping that they abandon voice acting and get back to the slapstick, personally!
