LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Announced For Autumn

TT Games, the British-based developers behind the LEGO film tie-in series, have revealed that their next project as LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. The project will star over 100 playable heroes, including Spider-Man, Deadpool, Wolverine, Captain America and even Galactus.

Yes please. More details below.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will offer an original storyline in which Nick Fury calls upon Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine and other heroes to save Earth from a range of threats - not limited to the vengeance of Loki and the hunger of Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds. This being a Travellers Tales game, expect gentle yet anarchic humour and a heady dose of nostalgia.

According to the press release, players will unlock "more than 100 characters from across the Marvel Universe, including fan favorites like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America, the Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Deadpool, Loki and Galactus! The game will pack in a plethora of super-cool character abilities, combat-like action sequences, epic battle scenes, puzzle-solving and a unique story told with playful LEGO humor."

“We’re very excited to bring a myriad of classic Marvel characters to life in LEGO form for some fun, family-friendly gameplay in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games Publishing. “Players will brave the ultimate mission to save the world as they explore famous landmarks in LEGO New York and take the adventure beyond Earth to iconic locations in the Marvel Universe.”

“Fans of both LEGO and Marvel have wanted this game for years, and we’re addressing that demand with more Marvel Universe characters than ever in a console game,” added TQ Jefferson, Vice President of Games Production, Marvel Entertainment. “If you’re a fan of Spider-Man, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy or scores of other Marvel characters, this is the game for you.”

Considering that there hasn't been anything less than a good LEGO game yet (most have been brilliant, including the recently-released LEGO: The Lord Of The Rings), we're so ready for this. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will release in "Autumn 2013" for practically anything with a screen.

Cool, I was expecting Toy Story but this is better. Playing through LEGO LOTR with the O/H at the moment so it's good to have a new one on the horizon now.

Oh hell yes! :D

I've always been a big fan of the Lego games, and whilst I never got into comics I'm a massive fan of most of the Marvel films and characters - so this sounds fantastic! :D

Also nice to see they appear to have a very wide sweep of the main Marvel characters, and aren't restricted as was the case with the recent films (though it would've been confusing seeing Chris Evans playing both Captain America and Human Torch in one film)

To this day I can't understand how The Fantastic Four films managed to be quite so painfully banal and mediocre. They had all of the ingredients to be awesome...yet somehow proved to be utter balls.
