Here's another weekend deal for a mix of rock and roll action combined with the lighthearted humour and good old fashioned fun that comes along with the Lego universe's take on things.
Zavvi are currently parting with copies of the game on the PS3 for £8.95, which is almost £2 cheaper than the next best offer of £10.89 coming in from Sendit.
If you've played Rock Band or Guitar Hero before then the format of the game shouldn't come as a surprise to you, all you have to do is hit the multicoloured notes as they descend down the screen, or scream out the words to the songs in true karaoke fashion. The only difference is the fact that all the characters and environments are made up of the characteristic building blocks of Lego that we've come to know and love. Along with their plastic presence they've also brought a nice mix of humour to the game, which we've previously seen when they had their go at interpreting both Star Wars and Indiana Jones.
You can choose to take on the role of either lead guitar, drums, bass guitar, or vocals in the single player, or you can invite a few friends round and form a super group, which is by far the best experience that the entire range of music games provides. Unfortunately, the game only supports local multiplayer, so you won't be able to team up over the internet from the comfort of your own living rooms.
In comparison to some of the other music titles on the market, Lego Rock Band's set list is fairly limited at 45 tracks, but there are a couple of songs that are quite enticing such as the Ghostbusters theme tune, which should provide you with a nice bit of 80s nostalgia.
Now's the time to pick up the game, because you're less likely to be disappointed by its limitations and can enjoy it for the simple bit of fun that it provides.
