Level-5, the developer behind such gems as Ni No Kuni and the Professor Layton series, have revealed that they're hard at work on a PlayStation 4 game.
"It's still in the planning stages, but we are also working on a PlayStation 4 title," Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino mentioned to Japanese newspaper Nikkei [translated by Gematsu]. "We might be able to announce it soon."
Echoing similar statements from other Japanese developers, such as Goichi "Suda51" Suda, Hino suggested that the PS4's networking and social features will provide interesting new gameplay opportunities.
"PlayStation 4 is next-gen hardware built with the network in mind, so more than graphics performance and specs, we need to think about communication - how to use the network features," he concluded.
We're personally hoping for another superb JRPG in the vein of Ni No Kuni, but the mind boggles. Note, however, that Level-5's painstaking attitude to localisation means that this project could potentially take years to reach us in the West.
