At long last, Grim Fandango is getting remade on PS4, Vita & "other platforms"

So PC then

I suspect that this E3 will be remembered as "the year everyone pretended to have played Grim Fandango before."

Regardless of whether or not you actually did, you're in for a treat Double Fine's hilarious noir point & click adventure is headed to PS4 and Vita courtesy of a partnership with Sony. This new version will be a prettied-up remake, not some DOSbox port job, while we hope that the horrible movement controls have been improved. Not all our memories are rose-tinted.

For your information, Matt's spent several minutes running around the office naked from the waist up, desperately trying to hug all and sundry after hearing the news during Sony's presser. It was disturbing, but understandable, since he's been crying out for this for years. Fifteen, to be exact.

Don't despair if you don't own a PS4, however, because Tim Schafer also confirmed that it's coming to "other platforms." We assume that it will release on PC, then, though whether it's day-and-date remains to be seen.

Either way, we're up for this.

I don't remember much about the game other than it was fun - apart from one specific puzzle involving an elevator and a forklift truck. I was stuck on that level for what must have been weeks. Turns out my "very fast pc" was the problem (I think it was a Pentium 2!) and there was a patch for that. And THAT, people, is how long I've been patching games for and I'm now going to try and forget how old that makes me feel.

This is one of those games that I missed in my early PC days. I really hope Tim wasn't kidding about "other platforms," i.e. PC!

The way everyone goes on about this game has made me very curious over they years.

I apologise for the naked hugging. I lost control momentarily. It was very warm, it was 3AM and something wonderful happened.

Then I woke up and a mafioso was talking about Playstation Now.

Matt was entirely justified. This is probably the highlight of gaming news for me in many a year.

I will be hugging people while FULLY naked until the game comes out.

chieftex - You realise it's not called 'hugging' when you you're fully naked... ;)

I still have the LucasArts pack on my shelf, of the 4 games I've only played The Dig, never got round to the rest, I might crack open Grim Fandango and give it a go!
