Capcom have pinged us some new details about Lost Planet 3's multiplayer suite, which received its debut trailer yesterday. Both competitive and cooperative gametypes will be supported, including a PvE horde mode-like.
Six "diverse" maps have been confirmed, with players assuming the role of either the authoritarian NEVEC forces or ragtag Snow Pirates. There'll be four unique modes, two of which have received further intel.
Scenario Mode sets each team a series of either offensive or defensive challenges and mixes them up with the extreme and unpredictable conditions of E.D.N. III. Players can compete in both third person on-foot action and in first person combat using the futuristic Vital Suits, making this a dynamic gameplay experience.
Akrid Survival sees two teams of three players compete independently of each other in a series of encounters against waves of hostile Akrid before the teams go head to head in a final PvP elimination round.
We also assume that campaign co-op will feature in some capacity, since it played a massive (if poorly-implemented) role in Lost Planet 2.
Lost Planet 3 launches this August on PS3 and Xbox 360. To be honest, we'd rather get Japan-only spinoff E.X. Troopers, but we'll give Spark Unlimited the benefit of the doubt.
