Mafia 2 is a pretty fantastic game, only let down by a self-indulgent plot and sluggish controls. It's a wonderful pastiche of 50s America and a great homage to the mafia films of old. It's £12.85 at ShopTo if you're a PC gamer, but stock is low so I suggest you make haste! Chronicling the story of Vito Scaletta, returning from war to make a name for himself with the local crime syndicates, Mafia 2 tries - and most of the time succeeds - in making you feel like you're in a bygone era. The cars aren't particularly fast, the guns rattle and roar as if they're about to fall to pieces, and don't be surprised if a police detail following you aim tommyguns from out the window!
