Set in the not too distant future, you join the ranks of one of three private military companies (PMCs), as they battle it out against one another in an attempt to put each other out business.
There are four game types that you can take part in and the number of players present in each ranges from a modest 32 on each side up to the ridiculous 128 per team totalling 256, so the battlefield gets a little bit busy as you progress.
Suppression mode is a 32 player death match that takes place within a single faction and allows you to get to grips with the games controls before you charge out to fight another faction. Sabotage as a maximum player limit of 64 and you have to capture two enemy satellite uplink centres before storming their base to destroy their database servers. Acquisition not only raises the total number of players to 128, but it also has a greater number of objective and in order to win you'll need to capture two of the enemy's armoured personnel carriers (APCs). Domination ups the player numbers to an epic 256 in total and you need to capture specific points on the map in order to fill your points meter to achieve victory.
MAG is a fun game that definitely promotes team work instead of running into the fray head first as a lone wolf and if you prefer to jump online with your first person shooters then you should almost certainly get your hands on a copy.
