Major Nelson Majorly Hacked!
Major Nelson (Larry Hyrb) is the face of Xbox Live, announcing new games and deals with wild enthusiasm. Gold Members tend to view him as a well-meaning, if occasionally embarrassing, uncle. However, someone's clearly gunning for him, as his Xbox Live profile was maliciously hacked earlier today. Nothing too nasty, but suffice to say that Larry's sexuality was called into question a couple of times.
Hacker website lightzz claims responsibility for the attack, and has even stated their intentions to offer their services for a hefty fee (even advertising on the hacked profile itself!). I personally find it disgusting that talented coders feel the need to do this, but I daresay a few people will 'take advantage' of this worrying new industry.

120 GB Hard Drives and MUs are Dead...
We recently reported that Microsoft plans to add USB hard drive support to the Xbox 360, and Larry Hyrb has taken time out from his busy schedule of being hacked to announce that the hefty 250 Gb hard drive (typically only bundled with the Super Elite package) will now phase out its little 120 Gb brother.
As we keep saying, the move towards bigger hard drives can only be a good thing. Companies and fanboys alike continue to rag on the Xbox for its relatively low disc space compared to Blu-Ray, and capacious hard drives will allow enormous games to be directly downloaded to the console without the need for a bigger physical storage medium (possibly with the use of a fast compression tool...Xbox ZIP?).
Expect the USB firmware update to arrive on April 6th... though capacity will be capped to 16Gb. I guess we can't expect Microsoft to give up its lucrative Hard Drive stranglehold yet. [Gamesindustry.biz]
Heavenly Sword Devs Start Secret Project
Ninja Theory were responsible for bringing us Heavenly Sword, the 2007 PS3 exclusive that almost lived up to its staggering hype machine. Sure, it was shiny- but it was all over far too quickly. Oh, and the hat-throwing puzzles sucked. However, Ninja Theory are now working on a "top secret" new project. Speaking in a podcast interview with 1UP, co-founder Tameem Antoniades let slip the following glib details:
"It's a full scale, it's a pretty big project. It's still top secret, but it's gonna be awesome, obviously."
Not much to go on, but we can discern that this project is a full-budget next gen title. Ninja Theory are working on this new venture in parallel with Enslaved, a third person shooter to be published by Namco Bandai. Naturally, we'll bring you the latest as soon as we hear anything.
