Manhunt 2 £5.95 @ Shop To [Wii Games]

Following all the intense furore surrounding the release of Manhunt 2, the last thing that anyone ever expected from the game was for it to turn out to be a damp squib. After all this was Kings of Controversy Rockstar's most controversial title ever! But sadly when it finally did the see the light of day, it produced a whole lot more shrugs than shrieks.

That's not to say that it's not worth a try though and now that it resides among the super cheap, you won't feel like you've wasted good money. Shop To currently have it in stock for just £5.95 and the next best price is an also-very-cheap £7.99 from HMV.

The sequel sweeps the subject matter of the original under the carpet entirely, offering instead a whole new premise involving an escaped asylum patient. Though hampered by amnesia he gradually begins to piece together the details of his detention and his involvement in mysterious project, The, er, Project.

Luckily the new story is fairly interesting and has some decent moments of suspense. The stealth mechanic is good and requires no small measure of skill but sadly the gun control is less tight and enjoyable. The graphics are very good for a Wii title and their gritty appearance matches the game's tone well.

While the game certainly packs a punch and offers some truly gruesome and grisly moments, thanks to the aforementioned controversy, the actual execution scenes are not a patch of the those of the original, being very blurry and hard to make out. But if your main aim is to shock then fear not, Manhunt 2 still creates a considerable stain on the Wii's golden family-fun image.Manhunt 2 £5.95 @ Shop To [Wii Games]

Not a bad game at all, but the blurring of the execution scenes was a deliberate attempt to bypass the game's original ban without losing any major content. Stupid, but that's what happens when the tabloids decide to use your product as the latest scapegoat.

Honestly, this game was a bit crap and I played the fully uncensored version.
