The latest instalment in Mario and Luigi's wacky adventures in role playing game territory was released last year to rapturous reception and is probably my very favourite game of 2010.
Today's Nintendo sale at The Hut is throwing up a couple of bargains and this one in particular caught my eye as, not only is Bowser's Inside Story freakin' awesome but also the next best price for it is £23.95 from Asda Entertainment so, if you hop to it then you stand to make a £6 saving.
In Bowser's Inside Story, Mario and Luigi at last come to understand how it feels to walk a mile in the King of the Koopa's shoes, or at least his stomach, as they find themselves shrunk and sucked up into his cavernous belly. The action is split into these sections where you play as the brothers, working together to progress through Bowser's insides and sections where you play as the great villain himself.
There is so much to love here, from the intelligent and often laugh-out-loud script, great variety in gameplay, fun moves and combos to learn, creative puzzles and fantastically entertaining new characters, to the cheerful and vibrant visuals. The Mario & Luigi RPG series has always been a riot and this latest instalment is almost certainly the best of the brilliant bunch. I adore Bowser's Inside Story and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Earlier I posted a deal about The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks—it's games like these two that remind me why I bought a DS in the first place (it's easy to forget as you drown in titles about babysitting and trip over mini-game collections).
