One of Ebuyer's current special deals is the awesome Mass Effect 2, which they are selling for just £19.99. This is the first time that I have seen the XBox 360 version of the game dip below the £20 mark and nearly £4 cheaper than next best offer from Shop To.
You'll probably have to rush to scoop up this deal as it has been advertised on Ebuyer's newsletter and they only have 70 left in stock, so no dawdling!
Mass Effect 2 is without doubt, the best game that I have played so far this year and one which I would recommend to everyone. The combat feels far more robust and realistic than that of the original, although this does mean that it has scaled down on some of the rpg elements quite steeply. It is a visually arresting game with fantastic character design and models and a more varied selection of environments than its predecessor.
Mass Effect 2 is not perfect of course; I personally miss the rpg style equipment menus, sure they could have used tidying up but that's very different from cutting them out entirely and the same goes for the planetary exploration on the Mako. The vehicle was a bit of a dud but instead of cruising around planets on the hunt for rare metals, you now have to give yourself chronic finger ache with the bizarrely tedious planet probing mini game. While the story is fantastic and overall probably a lot better than the original, it is not always satisfying. However there is so much to recommend this game that it is easy to overlook its flaws and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
