And They Say Romance Is Dead
Having already announced a cross-game partnership between Big Huge Games' Reckoning: Kingdoms of Amalur where exclusive armor and weaponry can be earned in either title via their respective demos, Bioware have now finally lifted the lid on when said Mass Effect 3 demo will be available. But you might want to cancel that romantic boat ride, as it's set to release on February the 14th. That's right; Valentine's Day.
"We are excited to be able to give gamers an expansive demo that will put them right on the front lines of this all-out galactic war,” reveals executive producer, Casey Hudson, on the Mass Effect 3 demo. “The entire scale of the game is bigger than anything we’ve ever done. With its intense action, deep customization and raw emotional power, Mass Effect 3 will deliver a spectacular action RPG experience to fans of the series and newcomers alike.”
The demo is expected to be a chunk ripped from Shepard's quest to halt the Reaper invasion, which currently has Earth in its genocidal grip. It'll verse you on the new combat scenarios and options, as well as hopefully displaying Bioware's faith in core RPG tenets like exploration and conversations.
However, what's most interesting is that the recently announced co-operative campaign will be featured in the demo, if you've activated your Battlefield 3 online pass, that is. If not, a co-op demo will be available on the 17th, although further reward schemes to unlock this mode early will be available on Mass Effect 3's official site.
