Report: Mass Effect 3 Title Update Causing Xbox 360 Crashes

Many gamers have reported that the latest Mass Effect 3 title update, which purports to fix the facial import problems that plagued the original release, is causing the game to crash when accessing the EA servers on Xbox 360. Some players find themselves unable to even access the main menu, and have had to resort to workarounds such as clearing the cache files or running the game offline.

BioWare is aware of the issues, and urges those affected to provide details. With enough feedback, they ought to be able to fix it.

We believe that this issue only affects a minority of Xbox 360 players, but do get in touch if you've encountered these problems.

Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut Offers "Personalisation" As Well As Closure

"We Didn't Know There Was Such A Huge Demand For It"

BioWare's decision to release a bulked-out ending for Mass Effect 3 as free Extended Cut DLC has gone down relatively well with the gaming audience, many of whom felt betrayed by the brusque original. Producer Mike Gamble has now spoken out to give us some tantalising clues about what to expect, namely "more than just a few cinematic scenes." Endings will be personalised depending on our choices throughout the campaign, which is exactly what we want.

However, BioWare's reason for not running with the extended cut ending at launch - which is apparently not a re-edit or retcon - is apparently because they didn't know that fans actually wanted any closure in the first place. Really.

BioWare Have "Ruled Nothing Out" Regarding Mass Effect 3's Ending

A statement (since removed) that went up on the BioWare social forum yesterday, suggesting unequivocally that there are no plans to change the ending of Mass Effect 3, has been removed and a clarification issued across the forum, on Twitter, and on the game's Facebook page.

The clarification states that BioWare are listening intently to fan feedback, and "have ruled nothing out" when it comes to the possibility of changing, or adding to, the much-maligned current ending of the game.
