3DS: GAME Prepping For Midnight Launches

If you've not pre-ordered a 3DS and you're worried that they'll sell out like hot cakes before you can get to a store, which is a distinct possibility, then GAME may have saved your proverbial bacon seeing as they're holding a midnight launch in over 100 stores across the country for the release of Nintendo's new handheld on March 25th.

To find out if your local store's taking part just click on the link above and scroll through the lengthy list, but I'd say your chances are pretty good and it's more than likely that others'll be added over the next few weeks.

Queues are also fairly likely, but then again I'm sure I don't really need to tell you that, so try and get to whichever shop you'll be travelling to with a good amount of time to spare before the doors open at 23:45.

Finally, to avoid any last minute disappoint  or dare I say anger, do pop into your nearest store and ask them if they're definitely opening seeing as the website clearly states that:

Stores open at the discretion of your local manager. This list shows the latest information we have on stores that are taking part in the midnight launch, however there may be changes. To be sure that your store is opening, please check with your local branch before going out on the night as they will have the latest information.

All that's left for me to say is good luck to those of you who do decide to venture out at midnight in search of the magical device!

Is it a distinct possibility? Anecdotal I know, but every GAME store I've been to has harangued me to take up a 3DS preorder, as though nobody is bothering. Added to that is the across the board (though still too expensive) price drop to £199 from most stores. Is the 3DS that much of a must have right now?
