Max has been away for far too long. Sure, his gameplay mechanics have aged quite a lot over the years, but Max Payne 3 is still great fun to play with its violent bullet-time shootouts. What really surprised me was how strong the story is. The narrative goes back and forth between New York and sunny Rio, but it's grim, dark and brimming with misery throughout. Yay!
