Poor old Max, not even a new job in Rio can cheer him up. Rockstar had a tough task on their hands bringing the Noir-stylings to sunny Brazil, but hats off to them, the story is fantastic, proving noir isn't just about moody visuals. The bullet-time action in the game is overly familiar though and seems to be stuck in the past with even 2007's Stranglehold providing better gunfights. In other areas the game excels though. The animation for Max's diving is realistically grounded as you see him carry on firing as he struggles to get up, adding a real physicality to gunfights. The graphical detail of some of the environments has to be seen too, especially the walk around Rio's favella. Saving nearly a fiver over the other sites I'd say give this a go.
