Rockstar have unleashed the first of a three-part trailer series that explains how Max Payne 3's multiplayer will offer a very different online experience... and how they've managed to incorporate bullet time into traditional online play. Only players in your direct line of sight will be affected by the slow motion effect, creating a tactical burst powerup that still leaves you open to attack.
The trailer also shows off two new gametypes, including the new 'marquee' Gang Wars mode which casts players as warring faction members from the singleplayer campaign. Objectives will dynamically alter depending on the outcome of each match. An aptly-named Payne Killer gametype puts two powerful players together and pits them against everyone else, using Max's signature abilities to survive.
Max Payne 3 is out on May 15th for PS3 and Xbox 360, with the PC version arriving two weeks later on May 29th.
