A new months ago, we brought you the news that Capcom were working on a brand new 2.5D Mega Man title entitled Mega Man Universe. This innovative platformer promised to let our blue hero assume the powers and appearances of a number of classic Capcom characters and allow for online content sharing, but sadly, it will now never see the light of day.
Capcom have officially canned the project; giving no reason beyond "various circumstances" on the game's website. We assume that it's been shelved in the wake of series creator Keiji Inafune's shock departure from the company after several months of discontent - and left without its auteur, Mega Man Universe has probably been floundering for the past few months.
Still, we'll always have the trailer.
