There was a bit of a furore when MGS4 didn't go multiplatform, but the logic was sound: it would have taken far too many discs. Such are the problems you face when you embrace a limited format such as DVDs in the face of much larger competition -- Blu-ray.
For the very same reason, don't expect to see Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection coming to Microsoft's current-gen console, though an appearance on the next one might be feasible.
"I'm sorry to say an Xbox 360 version isn't being released, because an Xbox 360 version of MGS4 hasn't gone on sale," Kojima said on his radio show. "To explain the situation, the amount of data in MGS4 is just too enormous."
So that's that, then. But what about the imminent arrival of a new console generation?
"When it's the next [Xbox] console, maybe we can release it ," added Kojima. "If we released a version on the Xbox 360 without MGS4, then it's not The Legacy Collection." [via Kotaku]
