Ditching numerals in favor of a catchy subtitle, THQ has officially renamed Metro 2034, which we shall now refer to as Metro: Last Light. Last month, we unearthed THQ's new trademarks for a 'Last Light' title relating to Metro 2034, and it appears we were bang on the money! It's a wise decision, as the passing difference between 2033 and 2034 is slight - steady, eager mathematicians, lurking in the wings to remind me of my ignorance - and by adding the Last Light subtitle, but retaining the Metro brand name, THQ can avoid any mishaps when it hits store shelves.
The sequel to 4A Games' cult classic shooter, Metro: Last Light looks set to build on its predecessor's dark and tense tone, with a bigger budget and more publisher support. THQ weren't expecting the original to do so well, but it delighted fans and critics upon release with its blend of careful pacing and atmosphere. We'll have more for you on Metro: Last Light when it emerges from the shadows. [Eurogamer]
