Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite 120GB Hard Drive £35.99 @ BroadbandBuyer.co.uk [Xbox 360]

Sometimes a deal comes along that seems too good to be true, but this time it is true! BroadbandBuyer.co.uk has the OEM version of the Xbox Elite 120GB hard drive available at a bargain price, although the £35.99 price doesn't include delivery (£38.33 inc. Royal Mail Recorded). Currently these retail for around £60, so you could save almost £30 off the latest RRP. So why wait? Upgrade today and get a huge 120GB of Xbox 360 storage.

What makes this so cheap? Well it’s what the trade call an OEM version, also known as a brown-box version. These don’t come with any of the original packaging and aren’t usually intended for retail sale, but when they do become available are always at a knock-down price. The most important omission here is the lack of the Xbox 360 transfer kit, but as you can re-download the majority of content and saves can be transferred to a storage card, it’s a minor inconvenience. It seems likely that Microsoft is flushing its stock in the wake of the 250GB HDD.

We’re not sure how anyone gets by with anything less than 120GB these days. It’s embarrassing when you look at PCs with their 2TB hard drives to be stuck with something that’s a tenth of that storage, yet oddly Microsoft manages to charge almost as much for. But with an avalanche of movies, demos and DLC to store this at least is one cheap way to boost your Xbox storage and, with Microsoft's refusal to support expanded physical media, expect to be filling that hard drive pretty quickly!

Yeah now you can use a memory stick to transfer saves and profiles the data transfer kit isn't really an issue.
