New 'Bomb' Mode Potentially Revealed, Too
It would appear Modern Warfare 3 has boosted the number of combatants who can join in a multiplayer game, doubling the original figure of 16 to 32. That's according to SFX-360, who stumbled on a leaked MW3 video from the upcoming Call of Duty XP Event - which has duly been taken down by an Acti hit-squad - but not before the site pulled a couple of screengrabs revealing the new player count and a mysterious new mode dubbed 'Bomb'.
We didn't make it to the video in time before it was pulled, but SFX-360 managed to snag the important stuff before it disappeared back into Activision's clutches. First off, it shows off a map glimpsed in the recent Spec Ops unveiling which we now have a name for: Paris. Underneath the map, the customary description advises it's a "huge area" and "great for team work". However, the exciting news is below; 'Max Player Limit: 32'. This is a first for Call of Duty, whose previous seven installments all featured 16 player multiplayer only.
Next up, 'Bomb' mode. Sadly, we have no details on this mysterious game-type. For all we know, it's not even a new mode at all, just a renaming of Search and Destroy or Sabotage. However, what would Infinity Ward look to gain from changing a mode's name? Nothing. So it's more than likely it is an all new game-type, in fact. Glad we settled that?
In other news, the video purports to have revealed 13 multiplayer maps on offer in Modern Warfare 3. The list of maps is as follows; Carbon, Coast, Dome, Exchange, Hardhat, Interchange, Lambeth, Meteora, Mogadishu, Paris, Plaza, Radar and Seatown. No guarantee all thirteen maps will make it into the game, as some might be amputated from the final release with a DLC map-pack in mind.
We'll have more for you on Modern Warfare 3 when further news emerges from the Call of Duty XP Event being held in Los Angeles. [SFX-360]
