Capcom's, ahem, monstrously popular series made its UK debut on the PSP not so long ago and we are soon to receive Japan's highest selling third party Wii game, Monster Hunter Tri.
Shop To are offering an almost ludicrously good preorder price for the game; just £22.95, nearly £7 cheaper than the next best from The Hut.
The game sees you doing exactly what you would expect from something entitled Monster Hunter; sending you off on quests to tackle and terminate a variety of beasts before using parts scavenged from the carcasses to create new sets of armour and weaponry. If you have played previous titles in the series you will find that Tri does not offer much of a departure in terms of gameplay, with just a few adjustments made here and there and the addition of a handy notebook feature.
Monster Hunter Tri became the eleventh title to ever receive a full 40/40 from Famitsu when it was released in Japan and hopes are high that this will be of far better quality than its frankly rather poor PSP predecessors.
However it only received a moderate 7/10 from NTSC who liked challenge offered by the single player mode (but were pleased to see the difficulty level scaled down a tad), great opportunities for teamwork and strategic play online, the satisfaction of finally taking down a behemoth of an opponent and the beautiful graphics but bemoaned the lack of variety in quests
