Get over here! Mortal Kombat X goes next-gen

Mortal Kombat X has been officially confirmed by Netherrealm Studios for a 2015 release, "fuelled by next-gen technology."

So far, that's all we know apart from the fact that Scorpion and Sub-Zero make a return. You can see them going at it in an exceptionally gory video after the break. UPDATE: Mortal Kombat X has now been officially confirmed for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

"Who's next?" asks the new track from Wiz Khalifa. Good question. I daresay we'll find out soon enough.

What a trailer, yet, the person responsible for the music selection should be taken out back and shot.

To be fair, it starts so well, a bell tolls, face off, anticipation so atmospheric. Then the singing starts, and it is totally out of whack with the game action. Whomever is in charge, needs to drop the whole rap vibe and rethink their music strategy.

Agreed. I started to pay more attention to the god awful music than the actual trailer. Something cinematic would have been much more suitable.

The action was cool, but I got the impression they were trying to give us an idea of what it would look like in-game, where I'd have personally preferred a nice CGI animation, like Assassin Creed trailers.
