Namco Bandai revealed during Japan Expo that they are bringing Tales of Xillia 2 to Europe and Australasia in 2014. A direct sequel to Tales of Xillia, which is still yet to release itself over here, the new game will feature "brand new characters" in a story that spans "multiple dimensions".
"Tales of Xillia 2 focuses on the events a year after the climactic end of Tales of Xillia," reads the official blurb.
"Players assume the role of Ludger Kresnik, a young man with a zest of cooking who lives with his older brother and his cat, named Rollo. On his way to his first day at work for a local cafeteria he runs into a young girl named Elle Marta and the two soon become involved in an accident that will change both of their lives forever."
Interestingly, though, this game will feature player choice as a fundamentally central aspect of gameplay. As well as being able to determine branching narrative paths through the story, players will have more freedom than ever on the battlefield thanks to the horribly named new Cross Dual Raid Linear Motion Battle System that lets players "link to any selectable character in battle to serve as a support character and perform linked artes against targeted enemies".
Players who have a save game file from both Tales of Graces f and the upcoming Tales of Xillia (which will be released in Europe and Australasia on August 9th, 2013) will be able to enjoy exclusive bonus items for Tales of Xillia 2.
