Next Week’s Releases and Cheapest Prices – Join Sora, Donald and Goofy’s Crew

After weeks and weeks of packed release schedules it’s a slight reprieve for our wallets this week with just a couple of games hitting the shops. One of them you should buy immediately, the other should be left until you’ve read some reviews.

December 2nd

Next Week’s Releases and Cheapest Prices – Join Sora, Donald and Goofy’s Crew

The Crew (PS4, 360, XO, PC) – MOST REVIEW DEPENDENT GAME OF THE WEEK

The Crew is one of the last hopes for what has been a terrible year for the driving genre. Xbox owners have at least had Forza Horizon 2, but it’s been seriously bobbins for everyone else. The Crew features a scaled down open-world of the USA to explore either racing solo or with a group of friends. It wouldn’t be an Ubisoft game without radio towers to discover too.

Early playtests were not kind, although the recent Beta showed signs of improvement. Ubisoft aren’t releasing review code until launch day, claiming they want the press to be able to play it fully online. I’m calling bollocks here. There’s a significant amount of game we could be playing offline and plenty of other games manage to turn servers on a week early and we’re able to find matches or races to test online with fellow writers or people that had their copy shipped a few days early. If we need more time to test out the online functions, we’ll take it, just like we did with Destiny.

Cheapest Price: Simply Games £41.85 (PS4/XO). Note: Depending on the reviews, this could be a tenner cheaper within a week.

Next Week’s Releases and Cheapest Prices: Bro Beatings and and Sackboy Siblings

What a week for Nintendo fans! New Pokémon remakes and a brand new Persona title for the 3DS and Smash Bros finally makes its new-gen debut. Elsewhere, Geometry Wars makes its multiplatform debut third time of asking and PS4 owners can finally start designing levels again with the series that started the Play. Create. Share movement. The less said about Amiibo, the better though. Don’t forget to enjoy our links to our past coverage and the cheapest online prices.

Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions (PS3, PS4, 360, XO, PC)

With over 50 stages to enjoy, the series is set to make a huge splash when it lands on all digital formats next week (sorry, not you Wii U). With the first two games making a name for themselves on XBLA, everyone is going to be able to get a taste this time. The retro shooter action has expanded to feature game worlds with a more 3D feel. Essentially, Geometry Wars has hopped into bed with the likes of Resogun and Super Stardust. That’s right shooter fans; you’re having it all this year.

It’s another week closer to Christmas, which means another week packed with more games than sense. Highlights include charging around the Himalayas on the back of an elephant with a machine gun, men in spandex, returning to Los Santos, taking on bloody big dragons with a pointy stick and building blocky civilisations in your pocket. We’ve been warming up for Black Friday a bit early by hunting out the very best of cheap game deals too, so be sure to check out the links to the best prices the net has to offer. Next Week’s Releases: Diddy DCs, Shiny Spartans and Aidez-moi Assassins!

Apparently, one week is enough to get away from the blast radius of the Call of Duty death train. So much so, Ubisoft are launching two new Assassin’s games. Why play new games though when you can take Master Chief through some old favourites in 1080p with super slick 60fps visuals? Or maybe get your hipster on and try out the underdog rival footy series? Or there’s always a new Lego title for the little ones (you, it’s always you that wants to play them, little Jimmy is tired of your hoarding all the blue coins). Or, seeing as the season to renew a life crippling addiction is fast approaching, why not pick up the latest WoW expansion. We’ve got the full rundown for you below, including links to the cheapest prices and our past coverage at Dealspwn.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection (XO)

It’s a brave brand that releases a FPS so soon after Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, but if anyone can try, it’s Halo. Including Halo 1-4 and running at a silky smooth 60FPS, Master Chief’s adventures have never been so smooth. Oh and there’s always the fact that it includes all the multiplayer maps to play in a playlist of your choosing.

Cheapest Price: Game Collection: £39.75

Next Week’s Releases: The FPS Revolution?

This is a big year for Activision, as they’re behind two of the biggest shooters of the year in Destiny and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Destiny has been a little lacking if we’re honest, but we’re still hopeful the futuristic makeover and exoskeleton movement can give the Call of Duty series a much-needed kick up the arse. Unsurprisingly, there aren’t many other games foolish enough to get in the way of the COD juggernaut this week, but fans of old school Ninty titles, NIS RPGs and life-consuming footy management sims will certainly find something of interest. Don’t forget to check out our past coverage and cheapest price links too.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS4, PS3, XO, 360, PC) – MONEY PRINTING RELEASE OF THE WEEK!

We’ve not been this excited about a Call of Duty game in ages. Forget BLOPSII’s ‘futuristic’ setting, this is the real deal. Featuring heavy influences from Crysis and Titanfall, the new skills afforded by the exoskeleton are the biggest shakeup the series has seen since COD4. The multiplayer is benefitting from the new skills too and we can’t wait to play the new Uplink mode which looks like COD’s take on Quidditch, but with added muderisation (shut up, spellchecker, that’s so a word!).

Next Week’s Releases: Zombie fairgrounds vs farming sims

A big week for Microsoft, with one of their big exclusives finally hitting the shelves. We also have the new pretender to Dark Soul’s bloodthirsty throne, a farming sim, a futuristic co-op demon hunt and a gloriously muddy battle between dirtbikes and quads. Have a look below for our full weekly guide of upcoming releases along with links to our past coverage and the best prices.

MX Vs ATV: Supercross (PS3, 360)

This is Nordic’s first MX release since acquiring the series from THQ and with 17 tracks to tear up with dirtbikes and ATVs, we’re quite sure this will be the muddiest release of the week. Fingers crossed it’s a hit as we’d like to see the series make the jump to PS4 and XO sooner rather than later. Hmm, next-gen track deformation.

Next Week’s Releases: Witches, Wangs and Warriors

A great week for Wii U owners who can feel super smug as the Umbran witch makes her Nintendo debut. There’s quite the musical theme elsewhere with the latest Just Dance title and Harmonix’s motion-controlled take on Fantasia. The words Firaxis and Alpha Centauri are probably enough to get our PC-gaming readers excited, not to mention a certain Dreamfall title. Read on for the full rundown along with links to our past coverage and the cheapest prices.

Dreamfall Chapters: Book 1 – LONGEST WAIT AWARD OF THE WEEK!

Fans have only been waiting since 2006 to find out what happens next in the Dreamfall saga, so yeah, they’re pretty pumped for this one. We get the feeling this is going to be a Kickstarter success story and can’t wait to play the new episodic format. The game is also coming to PS4 at some point, but release dates vary from next week (wrong), to November, to next year. Expect reviews of the PC version from our very own Carl Phillips soon.

Next Week’s Releases – Bikes, balls, blood and boomsticks

There’s a lot to be excited about with next week’s releases. Take a trip to Pandora’s moon with friends, explore creepy mansions packed with gibbering lunatics and well, probably buckets of giblets too. Fans of racing are sorted this week too (you know, because DriveClub is probably still offline) as they get to choose between a super light set of four wheels or mud-encrusted bikes. Forget all those pretenders though, what you really want to do is drop a ball and watch it bounce around...

Peggle 2 (PS4) – TIME STEALING RELEASE OF THE WEEK!

Exciting! Of all the early exclusives on the Xbox One, this is the one that had most PS4 owners seething with jealousy. If you're yet to experience Peggle, you should really go and check out a PC or mobile demo and then be prepared to throw money at the sequel on PSN next week. There's no word on pricing yet, but we expect it to be around a tenner.

Next Week’s Releases – Xenos, hoops and shiny cars

The release schedules are fattening up nicely now and we have a great selection of titles hitting the stores this week. Like hiding in lockers? Well the horror fan in you might find something Alien-related to enjoy, while the perv in you is also catered for via the latest browser-troubling release from Japan. PS4 racing fans rejoice as a certain much delayed racer is finally on the starting grid and XO owners, get those creative juices flowing for your answer to LBP. Failing that you’ll have to settle for some basketball or running around Hong Kong with a meat cleaver and handcuffs.

Next Week’s Releases – Xenos, hoops and shiny cars

Alien: Isolation (PS3, PS4, 360, XO, PC)

Creative Assembly’s title ditches the pulse rifles for a survival horror experience which seems so well suited to the Alien universe we don’t know why it’s taken someone this long to try it. Early reviews are largely positive and we’ll have our own soon. Be sure to check out our past coverage below.

Next Week's Releases - Murder, Mascots and Motors

Today’s roundup of the hottest upcoming games hitting stores next week should have something for everyone. There are tire-shredding racers, mind-controlled orcs, murder mysteries, strange JRPGs and mascot-sponsored brawling.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments (PS3, PS4, 360, XO, PC)

More murdery investigations are afoot! Fingers crossed there are less maths puzzles than the previous game in the series, The Testament of Sherlock Holmes. With sleuthing adventures being mightily thin on the ground on consoles, we’re quite looking forward to this one. Stay tuned for our review.

Cheapest Pre-Order: Zavvi £37.87 (PS4/XO). Amazon £21.85 (PC).

Next Week's Releases: Footy, murder and dungeons

Destiny has been a huge seller, but FIFA is bound to smash it off the top spot next weekend and is a good shout for Xmas #1. Other brave (foolish?) games are releasing the same week too, including the eagerly awaited Gauntlet remake and the intriguing murder mystery title, the Vanishing of Ethan Carter. Check out the full lineup for the week below, along with links to our past coverage and the best online pre-order prices.

Gauntlet (PC)

As a console gamer, I’m really jealous that this is only coming to PC for the foreseeable future. I blame this newfound addiction to Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition. Gauntlet is a true original brand though and we can’t wait to see its modern update. It has four player co-op of course.

Finished Destiny already or just have a really short attention span? Fear not, we’re back with our weekly look at next week’s releases. This is the week that parents will be dreading ahead of Xmas as Dinsey are rolling out their latest toy-fest. Will Zelda survive it’s whoring out to the Dynasty Warriors franchise and why are those sheep acting like Lemmings? This is the week to find some answers.

Disney Infinity 2.0 (PS3, PS4, 360, XO, WiiU)

This might be the year to check out Disney’s Skylanders-baiting franchise that sees real-life toy figures used on a portal to appear in-game. Since Disney acquired Marvel, it’s always been a sure bet we’d see them in Disney Infinity. So get ready for new playsets including The Avengers, Spider-Man and the crew from Guardians of the Galaxy. 2.0 also marks the series next-gen debut on the PS4 and XO. The base game and some extra figures is looking pricey, so be sure to check out our past coverage below first and stay tuned for Jon’s verdict on the XO version.

Next Week's Releases - New worlds, neon, hockey and ninja storms

For some reason, we get the feeling that one game is going to dominate next week. But that hasn’t stopped a few other titles braving the same release week as Activision’s new IP. Let’s take a look at what’s hitting the stores this week then.

September 9th

Next Week's Releases - New worlds, neon, hockey and ninja storms

Destiny (PS3, PS4, 360, XO) – MOST ANTICIPATED GAME OF THE WEEK!

It’s no wonder the release schedule is a little light this week as everyone sensibly gets out of the way of Bungie’s new juggernaut. After extensive time with the alpha and beta trials we’re confident that this is going to be one of the biggest smashes this year. Fingers crossed there’s plenty of depth in this ambitious FPSMMO. We have so much past coverage for you to check out including previews, deals, features and videos, be sure to check them out at our Destiny hub.

We’re getting awfully close to gaming’s silly season and there are a lot of games arriving in the coming months. Warframe (XO)

Warframe has been out for a while now on the PC and PS4 and the FTP title is coming to the Xbox One early next week. Be warned, this third-person shooter/slicer has a very grindy start that isn’t for everyone as you’ll struggle to shake the feeling you need to pump actual money into the game to get any decent weapons and upgrades.
