Molyneux: Black & White Kinect Would be "Super Cool"

From Super Cool Black & White to Crysis Marine Salvage - News Roundup 26th June 2010

We've been banging on about this for ages, but Peter Molyneux has finally realised that 'god-simulator' Black & White would be a perfect fit for Kinect.

“The original Black & White – with the hand, reaching in and touching and stroking, you can really factor that with Kinect, and it could be really super cool. It’s purely me just thinking about it, and thinking about what Black & White means. I love the idea of that connection the hand gave you into the world, the feeling of power, the feeling of nurturing.”

Yes. Playing with the creature,  flinging around villagers and casting spells with our bare hands would be super cool... and I can't get my head around why this concept hasn't been spearheading Kinect's lineup. Apparently, there simply isn't enough time and resources to develop both Fable III, Milo and Black & White at the same time... though I personally wish that Peter's priorities were slightly different. Kinect needs this game like the desert needs the rain. As do we. [UGO]

MDK2 Headed to WiiWare, HD version to PC

From Super Cool Black & White to Crysis Marine Salvage - News Roundup 26th June 2010

The critically-acclaimed sequel to Shiny's 1997 classic shooter is now setting its sights on WiiWare and a reskinned PC outing. At the beginning of the new Milennium, MDK2 threw us into a zany and surreal adventure with three of the most wacky characters of all time. Kurt, an apathetic space janitor turned reluctant warrior, kills his foes with a sniper rifle attached to his face... and his companions include a mad professor and a robotic six-legged dog with a penchant for extreme violence. Bioware really stepped out of their linear RPG comfort zone for this one!

We're delighted that MDK2 will finally be given a new lease of life. The HD version will be available via Beamdog, and both the WiiWare and PC versions are scheduled for an early 2011 release. A new sequel and an XBLA/PSN version would also be nice, mind. [1UP]

Marvel Costumes and Level Kit Headed to LBP

From Super Cool Black & White to Crysis Marine Salvage - News Roundup 26th June 2010

Marvel has announced that their official range of Hero and Villain costume packs are on their way to LittleBigPlanet starting July 7th. They'll be releasing details and artwork every week on their official site, starting from June 28th.

The costume packs include fan favourites such as Doc Ock, Iron Man, Venom and The Thing... but the level pack may be of greater interest to many gamers. The four included levels chronicle an X-Men themed adventure, with a variety of Marvel music, stickers and background to collect. This Marvel collaboration has been on the cards for months, so it's edifying to finally be able to get our hands on it. [via VG247]

Crysis 2 'Marine Salvage' Trailer: Safe Zone?

From Super Cool Black & White to Crysis Marine Salvage - News Roundup 26th June 2010

Crytek have released a new gameplay trailer for Crysis 2, and it's a real doozy. Titled 'Marine Salvage', it displays an epic charge towards a marine-guarded safe zone in Manhattan's Grand Central Station... only for all hell to break loose. The new alien combatants, melee techniques and high explosives are looking excellent- as are the graphics. Naturally.

Check out the trailer below- in up to 720p.
