NHL 14 Collision System Adopting FIFA's Impact Engine

Sharing is caring, and it seems that the Impact Engine that turned FIFA into a far more physical representation of the Beautiful Game is being applied to the bone-crunching nature of ice hockey for NHL 14.

Practically, this means better hit detection, a huge increase in player control over the direction and force of a hit, and a much wider range of outcomes given an increased number of detection points and improved ragdoll physics.

Let's just hope they iron out the bugs, though, and we don't have hockey players engaged in a passionate clinch when there's a game to be won.
