Ninja Gaiden 3 Gets A Launch Trailer And Final Dev Diary

Tecmo Koei have dropped a double whammy of trailery goodness for Ninja Gaiden 3. The first is the game's official launch trailer, with some refreshingly new English language voiceovers. The second is a Japanese dev diary that explains a little bit more about the changes the team have made for this third instalment.

Ninja Gaiden 3 drops on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 Europe on March 23rd, with a North America on March 20th.

New Ninja Gaiden 3 Screens Cut To The Quick

Andriasang has unearthed a bumper crop of Ninja Gaiden 3 screenshots that show Ryu Hayabusa in fine form. Which is to say, opening people up left, right and centre. Unfortunately, the big purple demons will also be making an appearance - which is galling since they're possibly the most uninspired enemy you could possibly create from a fusion of Eastern and Western mythologies.

Ninja Gaiden 3 is certainly looking pretty (and pretty gory), but we hope that gameplay has evolved past the shameful state we encountered it in last time. We'll find out on March 23rd.

With A Bloody New Video

I've all but lost hope in the Ninja Gaiden series. I even gave it a go over in GamesCom back in August, and found the entire experience utterly uninspired and disappointingly linear. But I digress, Tecmo Koei has unleashed an all new trailer for Ninja Gaiden 3, showcasing the competitive multiplayer mode in action. Which, I must admit, looks interesting, and at the very least ambitious.

Ninja Gaiden 3 Aiming To Be More "Modern"

Tecmo Won't "Rest On Its Laurels"

We're big Ninja Gaiden fans here at Dealspwn. We weren't overly fond of the schizophrenic second game, which just felt cruel and aimless rather than punishing and peculiar, so the third game in the series finally affords Tecmo the chance to do right by Ryu Hayabusa. We've had a chance to try it out since, and while we're less than convinced, we'll hold our tongues until the final game hits store shelves. Until then, Tecmo has been speaking to Strategy Informer regarding their ambition to move past tired videogame conventions in Ninja Gaiden 3 and make a truly "modern action game".
