Nintendo 3DS XL To Get Circle Pad Pro, Data Transfer

Nintendo has confirmed that a Circle Pad Pro peripheral is headed to the 3DS XL, which was officially announced last week. Considering the sheer monstrous size of the upcoming Nintendo handheld, we can safely assume that the extra cradle will turn it into a desktop replacement when it releases later this year. We're still not entirely sure why a second thumbstick wasn't included as standard, but we suspect that Nintendo would like some extra money. Who wouldn't?

According to Famitsu [via Andriasang], players will be able to transfer data between their 3DS and 3DS XL, as you can currently do between existing 3DS consoles.

ok this really doesnt make any sense. I kinda understood why they didnt include the 2nd thumb stick but to release a peripheral immediately that does it, does sound like a money spinner. It really does depend on whether devs decide to support it or not.

It's the only explanation I can see.
Sell the 3ds, sell the circle pad pro, wait a year or two, then sell the 3dsi which includes an integrated second pad...
Revenue maximised.
