Today marks the GameCube's 10th anniversary here in Europe, casting our minds back to lazy afternoons spent playing with friends on the likes of Super Smash Bros Melee and Super Monkey Ball 2, or exploring the depths of Wind Waker, Metroid Prime and Rogue Squadron. Though the plucky console went up against the original Xbox and PS2, Nintendo fans found a wealth of great games to enjoy, and a controller that's frequently remembered as one of the very best. The Gamecube was very much the little console that could, and a decade ago, it absolutely did. Whatever that means.
We'll be bringing you a fond retrospective over the weekend, but until then, I hope you'll join us in wishing the GameCube many happy returns - and share your own memories of Nintendo's little purple box.
