Nintendo Push Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Back To 2014

Nintendo announce during their streamed presentation earlier today that Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has been pushed back for a 2014 release so that the development team can finish polishing up the game.

The Wii U title had been aiming for a pre-Christmas release this month, but now will not hit retail until February next year. You can read our Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze hands-on preview here.

That's it. I'm not getting a U, then.

I've never got into Donkey Kong. I think I've owned almost all of them, always hoping it was going to be brilliant!

I luuuuuurrrrrrrved me some DK64. Was a fan of the 2D games, of course. DKC3 is amazing. But Rare really took it to the next level with DK64 and the multiple playable kongs, the outstanding level design. It's been going backwards ever since that (much like Mario post-Galaxy).

Completely agree. But then I guess there's only so much you can ever really do with any IP before it starts getting stale, I would put the same statement towards most Nintendo franchises, including mario kart, super mario bros, etc. ie they were great to start with, matured and peaked around n64, and now feel stale.

Oooh, forgot about 64! That was good, but it was a completely different style of game.

I haven't enjoyed the one on the wii. Played that in co op, and just found it wasn't as fun as say Mario Bros Wii.
