Nintendo Wii (Refurbished) + Wii Sports £114.99 @ eBay (Argos)

We don't normally do this, in fact we tend to avoid any sniff of places like eBay because of the certain risks involved. In similar fashion, we very rarely feature a deal that isn't brand, spanking new. But this, ladies and gentlemen, is a bit of a special case. We featured a deal a little while back concerning the Wii console starter pack along with Wii Sports for £134.95 from ShopTo. At that time I said that it probably wasn't worth it for anyone looking to spend a bit of money pimping out the albino console, but that it was a good bet for any one who just wanted a bit of casual gaming to see what all the fuss was about.

Now, however, you can pick up a refurbished console, the Wiimote, nunchuk, cables and Wii Sports game for just £114.99, courtesy of Argos.

There are a few things to be explained here: the first is that 'refurbished' does not mean new, nor does it really mean second-hand. These are models that might have had some slight issues like a dented box, a faulty light, a chewed cable or two, but that have been completely revamped to be as good as new. Argos are, in fact, so confident of this that they offer the same 12 month warranty that you get with a new model.

The second question you might be asking is then 'Why eBay?' Well, legally Argos can't list refurbished items on their site, so few this as more of a special clearance sale through a middleman. You will have to use PayPal, however.

The important thing to note is that this is a good £20 cheaper than the previous price we found. If that warranty wasn't in place then this deal wouldn't even be getting a look in, but it's garnered some pretty good heat on our sister site HotUKDeals and, considering the shopping giant behind it, we feel it's probably worthy of note. Again, if you're not too bothered about MotionPlus (for which you're looking at a console bundle costing £149.99), then I'd advise that you grab this bundle and use the £35 you'll save on a few extra Wiimotes.
