Nordic Games Dates & Details The Inflatakart

Nordic Games has announced that the Inflatakart, an inflatable Wii driving game peripheral, will be available in stores from September 2nd. Literally: it's an inflatable cart that's been tested up to 100KG of tolerance, featuring a steering wheel into which you can insert a WiiMote that makes it compatible with all Wii racing games as well as Nordic's upcoming Jungle Kartz title. It will retail for £24.99.

"It’s a really simple wire-free, battery-free way to make racing games for Wii™ a lot more fun. We want to keep enhancing the gaming experience for everyone and in addition to our We Sing mic packs and Star Mats, the Inflatakart is just one of the ways we are doing this."Nik Blower, sales and marketing director at Nordic Games

I laboriously squeezed my corpulent frame into the Inflatakart at Gamescom, so stay tuned for our hands-on preview. More packshots and photos after the break - and I'd be interested to know what you make of it!

Yet another wii peripheral that's completely unnecessary - and yet I'm not as disgusted with this one as I am with most others. And that's because it's inflatable, and so presumably doesn't take up much space when not in use...
I'm sure I'm not the only one with nearly a room full of gaming peripherals. :(

Is it wrong that for some reason I kinda want one of these?

It's wrong if you want one based on the children being used to model the product and their clearly overly exaggerated expressions of joy. If I didn't see preteens featured in the promotional material though then I'd probably assume they were suitable for all ages.
