Obsidian Entertainment, who're currently working on Dungeon Siege 3 having wrapped work on Fallout: New Vegas and Alpha Protocol, are currently in the midst of restructuring their staff, if several former employees' tweets are to believed. They report that the company is laying off staff, although whether we're talking large-scale dismissals or simply small-scale readjusting is unclear.
I'm somewhat surprised to hear this. Admittedly I'm not privy to Obsidian's hierarchical machinations, but New Vegas scored and sold very well, with new DLC on-route. Alpha Protocol was a flop, however, and it's unclear how well Dungeon Siege 3 will do in a very congested and competitive period. We'll keep you updated on this as it develops. [Joystiq]
