Get an official 3DS power adapter for £5.99 from Base

2DS/3DS/DSi power adaptor | Base | £5.99 (save £1 vs Amazon)

This isn't the most glamorous or exciting deal we've ever posted, but a console is just a paperweight without power. Doubly so for the 3DS and 3DS XL, the latter of which doesn't even ship with an AC adaptor as standard. Luckily Base are on hand with the official version for a competitive £5.99, saving you a quid on a replacement or spare. Households with multiple 3DS/2DS units may also want a backup.

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous they dont come with a power cable out the box?

@TheChappy: http://youtu.be/mJXYMDu6dpY ;)

It made sense for the very first production run of XLs, which encouraged existing 1G 3DS owners to upgrade. But now it makes no sense whatsoever.

EDIT: What annoys me even more is that the Wii U GamePad uses a differently-sized power adaptor to the 3DS. I assume the transformers output differently, but even so, this was a missed opportunity to cut down on cabling.
