Open-Source Marathon Trilogy Gets Major Upgrade

In the heavens, they are waiting... for you to get your act together and download the Marathon Trilogy. Bungie's original Sci-Fi FPS franchise, complete with a Mjolnir cyborg years before Halo stole its thunder, has been free to download for years with upgraded features courtesy of Aleph One - who have now overhauled the engine with major new features.

Aleph One Engine 1.0 features enhanced graphics, a new HUD, rewritten scenarios and the HD texture pack that was previously only available in the XBLA version of Durandal. All that, of course, on top of OpenGL shader support, Internet co-op and multiplayer, modern mouse-look and gamepad support and plugin support for modifications.

Here are a few hundred words on why you need to frog blast the vent core... I mean... download this pronto.
