The heist couldn't have gone better, and despite some rocky logistical issues, Overkill Software have managed to sell 1.58 million copies of PayDay 2 since launch. Positive reviews, dedicated community and thrifty marketing lead to the project breaking even solely due to pre-order sales, an impressive feat considering the glut of games that released last month. Most copies were sold digitally, unsurprising since rare boxed copies were like gold dust for several weeks.
"A full year of DLC" has been planned, but we reckon that Grand Theft Auto Online might slightly cut into the multiplayer heist 'em up space. Either way, be sure to read our PayDay 2 review for our final (and very complimentary) verdict.
