Peter Cullen To Reprise Prime Role In Fall Of Cybertron

Activision and High Moon have unveiled the list of voice talent that'll be gently massaging our ears in between the sounds of massive robots beating the crap out of one another. Peter Cullen will be lending his stately tones to voice Optimus Prime once again (thank god!), and he's joined by a number of familiar names, with the likes of Nolan North, Steve Blum, and Troy Baker in the mix too.

Oh, and Greg Berger will be reprising his role from the 80s TV series to play Grimlock.

Yes! YEEEEESSSSSSSS!

Here are the confirmed names so far...

  • Peter Cullen – Optimus Prime
  • Greg Berger – Grimlock
  • Nolan North – Bruticus, Cliffjumper and Brawl
  • Troy Baker – Jazz, Jetfire, and Kickback
  • Fred Tatasciore – Megatron, Ratchet, and Metroplex
  • Steve Blum – Shockwave, Swindle, and Sharpshot
  • Isaac Singleton – Soundwave

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron release over here on August 31st for PC, 360 and PS3, with North America getting it on August 28th.

Grimlock King!

I watched Transformers as a kid and so it's all etched into my mind whether I want to remember or not... Weren't Grimlock and the dinobots created on Earth after the fall of Cybertron? I mean they were created based on dinosaurs, so what are they doing on Cybertron? If a guy that hasn't seen the cartoon in 25 years can instantly think of an inconsistency...

I think the dinobots weren't created on earth but buried there

It’s a bit complicated, involving Shockwave, “the mad scientist of the Decepticons,” discovering dinosaurs wandering primordial Earth while scanning for other life in the universe. This video does a better job of explaining than me:

In the cartoon series The Dinobots were created on earth by wheeljack and ratchet after the autobots dug up some dino skeletons in the mountain the ark is embedded in.

In the upcoming game fall of cybertron, the dinobots have a completely different genesis. You can see Matt Tieger explaining this here

He explains that the Dinobots weren't on Cybertron but they wanted them so came up with an alternate beginning in an effort to include them. Its a good clip if your interested at all watch it.
