Pitchford Apologises For Aliens: Colonial Marines Wii U Cancellation

Just a quickie: Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has apologised to Wii U owners who were looking forward to the recently-canned Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines.

"I’m sorry the risk you took didn’t work out in spite of your best hopes and intentions," Pitchford tweeted over the weekend, replying to Wii U owner Nate Pig. "I also have those feelings in spades."

Aww. It's always a risk when you intentionally farm development of a major IP out to a third-party contractor and then desperately hope to cobble something together at the last minute, so we definitely understand Pitchford's point of view. It's likely that SEGA unilaterally decided to cancel the Wii U version, which was originally described as the definitive edition.

Still, on with the season pass content. I bet he misses the good old days when Gearbox could do no wrong...

Everyone misses what Aliens: Colonial Marines could have been.

No one will miss this on Wii-U.

I'm posting here simply to point out how amusing it is getting linked here from HUKD, where the end of the title is cut off, so it just says "Pitchford Apologises For Aliens: Colonial Marines...":D

I read it as :- Wii U owners dodged a bullet as ACM Cancelled.

Yeah Wii U owners should be thankful that they can't be tempted to buy it through nostalgia.
