Playstation 2013 Meeting Announced

Carl Phillips
Annoucements, Orbis, Playstation, Playstation 4, Sony Computer Entertainment

February 20th Set For A Big Reveal

There have been whispers around the internet for some time that Sony were planning a Spring presentation similar to Apple’s conferences, but now it appears we will indeed be getting one… and very soon at that. In the early hours of the morning, the Playstation YouTube channel posted a new video titled "See The Future" that, while featuring the recognisable controller button symbols, doesn’t tell us much other than a date – February 20th 2013. A link in the video takes viewers to the Playstation website where they can sign up for a reminder to view the meeting, which will be starting at 6pm EST (which translates to 11pm GMT.)

Will we finally be seeing the Playstation 4/Orbis? Will we get some exciting PS Vita news? Will it be Kaz Harai attempting to outdo Iwata’s record of saying “please wait” within an hour? We’ll be sure to be on base for the meeting, and will keep you posted of any news as it develops.

Exciting stuff, though it could just be for a new "RiiIIiiIIiidge Racer."

Best go trade a couple of my ps3's this weekend. Before they're worth 4pence each.

It's starting.
My pulse quickened just reading this... :D

Although it's not much to go on, are you going to talk about this in one of your podcasts? It's more along the lines of rampant speculation atm but better than having only speculation to go by.

Please Sony, don't overstate the capabilities of your console again. The PS2 and PS3 were disappointing by contrast.

@Realhoneyman We will do, yes. In fact you've inspired us to restart the podcast mailbag so readers and listeners can submit questions and topics they'd like to have covered either over the airwaves or in articles onsite.

We'll be discussing the Sony presentation next weekend, just ahead of the day itself, doing our very best analyst impressions and making a variety of predictions for you all to mock when we inevitably get them all wrong. :)
