Pokemon X and Pokemon Y To Release For 3DS In October 2013

In a special Pokemon Direct presentation today, Nintendo revealed that a new double-whammy of Pokemon games will be dropping this October, finally arriving on 3DS.It'll be the first generation of Pokemon games to take full advantage of the 3DS' systems and features, with the entire world an the Pokemon  themselves rendered in full 3D for the first time on a handheld.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata noted that the games will release "around the same time" in North America, Japan, Europe, and Australia, another first for the series, in a bid to allow for healthy global connectivity straight away.

The video gave us some healthy helpings of early footage, along with three new starters. You can check them out below, and the full video is available at the bottom, courtesy of Nintendo.

Fenniken - I usually go for a fire starter as grass and water Pokemon tend to abound in the early game.

That said, I'd love to see some evolutions. I literally have no idea what Chespin could possibly evolve into - looks like a Furret wearing the Minish Cap. If you squint. And lower the brightness. From ten feet away.
