With SoulSilver and HeartGold on the cusp of release, I am beginning to get the familiar flushes of Pokémon fever and in light of this I bring you a great pokédeal. Zavvi are currently sailing above the competition with their price of £14.85 for the latest addition to the Mystery Dungeon series, Explorers of Sky, which will save you at least £3 compared to the glut of retailers who are selling the game for around £18 and upwards.
If you fancy picking up some other bits from Zavvi then you might wish to make use of the voucher code SAVE3 which knocks £3 off a spend of £30 or more.
There are few fans of the Mystery Dungeon series and even fewer who would admit to it. Frankly it's hard to see how anyone other than the biggest Pokémon obsessive (ie. idiots like me) would have stuck with the dungeon crawler up until this instalment, which, sadly, is probably the worst of the lot.
The Mystery Dungeon games all revolve around a central premise of "WTF?! I have lost my memory (and my marbles perhaps?) and turned into a Pokémon. Better go a-dungeon crawling!" and Explorers of Sky, an arguably superflous remake of Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Time is no different.
As usual, Explorers of Sky is filled with charming little stories, a wealth of pokémon to squee over and cute graphics if dated graphics but the dungeons themselves are just so mindnumblingly repetitive and uninteresting that even I have trouble sticking with this for more than a few hours.
