amazon.co.uk briefly put the white back on their site at £199.99 this afternoon, but quickly removed it again.

There's rumours they later put the black up at £199.99, but just for a couple of minutes - and are honouring orders made in that brief spell. Those rumours are unconfirmed, and seem unlikely. They accidentally had the black U at that price a few months back for a couple of hours, and cancelled all orders made then...

ShopTo. £279.85

Not tempted personally, but appears to be the first retailer to guess at the rrp (£279.99, so you're on for a 14p saving ;-) ) and first preorder I've seen.

Maths isn't their strongest point, mind...

Nintendo is holding a press event for the Wii U this Thursday, in New York. Should reveal USA pricing and release date, and what's included (eg will you need to fork out for a proprietary hard drive), and hopefully they'll give some more details of launch window titles.

Hopefully we'll get some idea of European price/release date then, too...

Still not really interested in the U, as it seems to be closer to current gen than next gen (guesswork/opinion) but if it's less than about £180 I might take a punt on it. I still think it'll be more than that, though. Lots of speculation about it being $249.99 or $279.99 over the pond, which equates to about £155/£175, but we always get stiffed of course.

Edit:
Presser now announced for Europe, on the same day.
Thanks Jon.

Nice - I don't have to keep checking prices, and could maybe get a bit of work done now... ;)

Similar to UK and US getting a third bundle (including Zombie U instead of Nintendo Land), Japan have been offered one - with Monster Hunter Tri HD.
That game will definitely shift units, especially in the land of the rising sun.

The normal Premium set in Japan makes no sense. Who's going to buy it if it has no game included, and is a few quid cheaper than the MH3 bundle?

Wii U Premium £269.99 @ Sainsburys:
Link.
That's £299.99, less £30.00 code for new customers. If you're an existing customer you could try a new account. No guarantees it'd be accepted, and not sure if you'd get it for launch day.

Wii U Premium approx. £260.68 @ Amazon France:
Link.
€322.06 (approximately £261)
You'll need to switch the two plugs from 2 pin to 3 pin, or use adaptors, but other than that there should be be no difference between the UK and FRA consoles.

Currently £225 with free next day delivery at Zavvi, for the Premium version, as spotted by solidstate on hotukdeals.com

Can be had for £203 if you have a referral code (a google search should sort you one apparently).
EDIT - looks like those orders that used a 10% code may have later been cancelled by Zavvi, as the code isn't supposed to work on consoles but did due to a glitch that won't be honoured. I've not looked into whether anyone actually got it at the lower price...

"Base" model has been reduced to £189.85 by ShopTo on ebay. (If you're not familiar with ShopTo don't fret - they're a very big and reputable company.)

Compares pretty well with the £225 Premium version at Zavvi.
Worth the extra £35 for the "Nintendo Land" game (available from Grainger for £25 new or £20 used) and some charge cradles? That's a judgement call.
