Project Aces Tease New Ace Combat [UPDATE]

Project Aces, the Japanese design team behind the Ace Combat series, have launched a teaser site for what's likely to be another series entry. It's a bit thin to say the least, just containing the phrase "that day our sky fell, the heavens split to create new skies.” Erm, and that's your lot.

We'll naturally keep you posted, but hope that their next game returns to the OTT Strangereal setting that mixed real-world planes with insane Sci-Fi floating fortresses to destroy - as opposed to the much blander military stylings of Assault Horizon. The stunningly visceral metal carnage mechanics are more than welcome to return, mind. Along with High-G turns. Please. #acecombatfanboy

UPDATE: Gematsu reports that Namco Bandai have registered a trademark for Ace Combat: Infinity in Europe. Coincidence?

Yup. Keep the 'Make Metal Bleed' stuff, Project Aces, but give us outlandish flying leviathans please! PLEASE! Seriously, I want a sodding Death Star moment in this one. Also never show the main character's face and don't give him/her (it shouldn't matter) a name. Badass call-signs ONLY.

Given that the blurb mentions heaven, I'd be happy with any of the following:

Archangel
Prometheus
Odin
Stormbringer
Cthulhu
Raven

Warwolf was awesome. But then you ruined it my reminding me that I wasn't Warwolf. NEVER BREAK CHARACTER, KONO!

You don't want the call-sign "Tinkerbell", then?

Shotgun, sounds badass. Tinkerbell Squadron sprinkles you with fairy dust from the barrels of an AC10 Warthog. My magic wand is an XLAA.

Wait, no, can I change that?

Damn but that's a quote. (_;)

You've just designed the best squadron logo/tail emblem ever. Tinkerbell Squadron it is!

Ask not for whom the Tinkerbell tolls. It tolls for thee.

I'll, erm, iterate on that. Squadron try-outs start monday, bring your leotard.
