Indie-meets-triple A JRPG Project Phoenix has managed to secure seven times its Kickstarter funding target with five days left to go. Creative Intelligence Arts have now proudly announced that a PS4 and Vita version are on the cards, and that new platform-specific tiers are on their way.
In case you didn't already know, Nobuo Uematsu is signed up to compose the soundtrack. Yeah. Now you're paying attention.
"Project Phoenix will officially be released on the Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita!" crowed Creative Intelligence Arts in the latest Kickstarter Update.
"Over the past few weeks, we’ve received many messages, e-mails, and queries about the possibility of the game being released on the PS4 and PS Vita and now, after long negotiations and discussions, that wish has become a reality! So although not every single detail about the release has been finalized, we’re proud and excited at the prospect of developing for the Playstation platform."
As we've previously detailed, Project Phoenix promises a revolutionary JRPG with real time strategy combat, developed by a team of AAA veterans. It's absolutely caning the original funding target, though to be honest, I still think their total is worryingly optimistic if not overly ambitious for a project of this scale. Either way, go check it out.
